Fourth of July Nail Design Explosion! - Nail Design

For the 4th of July, there are many ways to be patriotic. Whether you decide to wear red, white and blue clothing, accessories, or whistles, a little patriotism goes a long way. Painting the 4th of July on your nails, for example, is sure to be a crowd pleaser and a show stopper. This 4th of July nail design involves just 3 colors: red, white and blue.
The first thing you want to do is pick a base color. Most people choose a solid white, but the artist decided to go with a pearly white. After painting your nails with a white base color, paint your nail tips blue. Again, a royal blue will work fine, but the artist used a pearly blue to compliment the pearly white.
Now we are ready to turn this nail art upside down and add a two different patterns, stripes and dots. The dots will represent the stars on the American flag. Using the base color you chose in the beginning (a shade of white) draw several white dots on to your blue tips. If you are using regular nail polish, your white dots will be somewhat large. If you desire smaller white dots you can use a nail art brush, which has a finer tip. However, if you are using a sheer white, small dots may not show up as clearly.
Once your nails dry, take red nail polish and draw red stripes from the base of your nail to the blue tip part of your nail. You should be able to draw 3 or 4 red stripes for each nail. Again, allow your nails to dry. The final step for this look is to protect it with clear nail polish. If you only plan to wear this look for the holiday, there is no need to use clear nail polish.
